Jenny Dean Schmidt is executive director of ChannelMom media, and has hosted ChannelMom radio and podcast for 11 years. Before founding ChannelMom, Jenny had an extensive career in TV news, where she worked as an on-air report, host, producer, and writer for media entities across major U.S. cities.
Jenny has interviewed and posed questions to two U.S. presidents, as well as many other politicians and celebrities. She’s covered high-profile news stories, including the OJ Simpson trial, the Columbine massacre, and a number of presidential campaigns.
Beyond her media career, Jenny is passionate about the important role of today’s mothers, charged with raising up the next generation. Jenny chose to leave her TV career to commit to raising her own children at home. She believes the motherhood role is over overshadowed by popular culture values that glorify celebrities and the celebrity lifestyle.
